Westminster women defeated at Wooster

WOOSTER, Ohio--The Westminster College women's swimming and diving program was dealt a 221-54 dual meet loss by The College of Wooster Saturday afternoon inside the Timken Natatorium.

Senior Sara MacMurdo (Pittsburgh, Pa., Carlynton) registered three top-three finishes for Westminster. She was second in both the 50 freestyle (26.31) and 200 freestyle (2:07.37) and placed third in the 100 freestyle (58.38). 

Senior Amber Krebs (Whitewater, Wis., Whitewater) was third in the 1000 (12:04.22), senior Sara Swanson (Avondale, Ariz., Odyssey Institute for Advanced and International Studies (OIAIS)) was third in the 100 backstroke (1:11.40) and freshman Taylor Moats (Corry, Pa., Corry) was third in the 500 (6:00.98). 

Westminster opened the dual meet with a fifth-place finish (2:10.52) in the 200 medley relay. Members included Swanson, Moats and sophomores Annabelle Turner (Butler, Pa., Butler) and Maddy McClain (Elizabeth, Pa., Elizabeth Forward). The meet concluded with the Titans' second-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay (1:52.76). Krebs, McClain, sophomore Preslie Bodine (Poland, Ohio, Poland Seminary) and MacMurdo completed the relay.

Westminster will host its annual Rich Senter Diving Invitational on Friday, Jan. 17 with events scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. On Saturday, Jan. 25, Westminster will host Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Saint Vincent College at 1 p.m. inside the Westminster Natatorium.
