Westminster suffers loss on road

BEAVER FALLS, Pa.--The Westminster College men's soccer program dropped a 2-0 decision at Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Geneva College Saturday night under the Reeves Field lights.

Westminster fell to 3-4-2 overall and 0-2 in the league. Saturday was the program's third-straight loss to Geneva.

Junior Noah Wolford (Butler, Pa., Butler) made four stops in 90 minutes. 

Saturday was Westminster's fifth time this season holding its opponent scoreless through the first 45 minutes. Geneva struck in the 62nd minute on a Gabe Singh goal. Carnel Kerr tacked on another goal in the 83rd minute, his fifth of the year, off assists from George Cottenden and Dominic Sambuco. 

Geneva finished the match with a 15-3 advantage in shots and held a 6-0 edge in shots on goal. Geneva finished with five corner kicks, while Westminster had four--all in the second half. 

Next up
Westminster hosts Franciscan University Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the UPMC Sports Complex. The soccer programs are teaming up to host an Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Awareness Day next Friday.
