Westminster drops a pair Saturday

GROVE CITY, Pa.--The Westminster College women's volleyball program suffered a pair of losses at Grove City College Saturday. The Titans fell 3-1 to host Grove City before being dealt a three-set loss by No. 14 Case Western Reserve University. 

Westminster has dropped four-straight matches, falling to 17-14 overall and 4-4 in the league.

Westminster hosts Franciscan University Wednesday at Ron Galbreath Court inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium. The opening serve is set for 7 p.m. 

Grove City 3, Westminster 1 (25-20, 18-25, 25-15, 25-12)
Junior outside hitter Rachel Brady (Columbus, Pa., Corry) paced the Westminster offense against Grove City with 10 kills. It was Brady's 12th match this season with 10 or more kills. Sophomore outside hitter Liv Trent (Pittsburgh, Pa., Brentwood) and senior right side Ava Ferringer (Venus, Pa., Cranberry) added nine and seven kills, respectively. Junior setter Angie Nardone (Ellwood City, Pa., Lincoln) finished with a 16-assist, 13-dig double-double, her eighth-straight double-double and 15th of the year. Freshman setter Morgan O'Brien (Pittsburgh, Pa., Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) had 12 assists and eight digs. Freshman libero Brooke Gecina (Aurora, Ohio, Aurora) totaled 18 digs. 

Case Western Reserve 3, Westminster 0 (25-12, 25-20, 25-17)
Gecina had a career-high eight kills on 30 swings and added nine digs for Westminster. Ferringer and Brady each had five kills. Sophomore setter Anna-Kate Davis (Boonsboro, Md., Boonsboro) finished with nine assists and eight digs while O'Brien had eight assists. Sophomore libero Maggie Shadle (Marion Center, Pa., Marion Center) totaled six digs.
