Curtis 39th at PAC Championships

NEW CASTLE, Pa.--Westminster College junior Monica Curtis (Harborcreek, Pa., Harbor Creek) finished in 39th place at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Cross Country Championships Saturday morning at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds.

Allegheny College won the 11-team event with a score of 45 points. Westminster placed 10th with 283 points. Grove City College's Lydia Bennett won the 116-runner individual event with a time of 21 minutes, 54.30 seconds. 

Curtis posted a time of 25:27.80. Freshman Alexis Lefoer (Canfield, Ohio, Canfield ) was 92nd (29:40.10) and sophomore Madison Mamula (New Brighton, Pa., New Brighton) was 96th (29.53.40). Junior Alyssa Jeffcoat (Wampum, Pa., Lincoln) finished 104th (31:14.20) and freshman Josephine Cervone (Pittsburgh, Pa., Avonworth) was 115th (38:42.80).

The 10 Division III regional championships are scheduled for Saturday, November 16. Bethany, Chatham, Geneva, Grove City, Saint Vincent, Thiel, W&J, Waynesburg and Westminster will compete in the Mid-Atlantic region, while Allegheny and Franciscan will compete in the Great Lakes region. The Division III Mid-Atlantic Championships will be held at Lock Haven University's West Branch Cross Country Course, while the Division III Great Lakes Championships will be held in Shelbyville, Indiana at Blue River Park.

This year's Division III Championships are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 23 at Lavern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terre Haute, Indiana. 

Westminster will compete in the Grove City Twilight Friday. The five-kilometer event will be held at Robert E. Thorn Field.
