Westminster drops PAC meet at Saint Vincent

LATROBE, Pa.--The Westminster College women's swimming and diving program was dealt a 146-134 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss by Saint Vincent College Saturday afternoon at the Resnik Pool. 

Freshman Maddy McClain (Elizabeth, Pa., Elizabeth Forward) earned a pair of individual victories for the Titans, winning the 200 freestyle (2:05.36) and the 500 freestyle (5:33.86). Junior Christina Loewe (Austin, Texas, Veritas Academy) won the 200 backstroke with a time of 2 minutes, 23.81 seconds and finished second in both the 100 butterfly (1:08.08) and 200 butterfly (2:31.12).

Sophomore Alexa Young (Pittsburgh, Pa., Mount Lebanon) finished first in the 1-meter, 5-dive competition with a score of 133.70 points. Young also finished first in the 1-meter, 6-dive event with 157.70 points.  
and 157.70.

Junior Sara MacMurdo (Pittsburgh, Pa., Carlynton) finished as the runner-up in both the 50 freestyle (26.33) and 100 freestyle (57.06) and freshman Preslie Bodine (Poland, Ohio, Poland Seminary) posted second-place finishes in both the 100 breaststroke (1:16.08) and 200 breaststroke (2:49.68). Junior Amber Krebs (Whitewater, Wis., Whitewater) finished second in the 100 backstroke (1:07.62) and fourth in the 500 freestyle (5:57.24).

Westminster closed the meet with a victory in the 200 freestyle relay, winning with a time of 1 minute, 47.03 seconds. Members of the relay included MacMurdo, senior Lauren Tanis (Reading, Pa., Fleetwood), McClain and Krebs. 

The Titans' 200 medley relay, made up of Loewe, Bodine, McClain and MacMurdo, finished second (1:58.55).

Westminster will travel to PAC rival Grove City College Wednesday. Events will begin at 6 p.m. at James E. Longnecker Pool.
