Titans score PAC win against Thiel

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College women's basketball team led wire-to-wire in Saturday afternoon's 81-24 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win over Thiel College at Ron Galbreath Court inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium. 

Westminster improved to 4-3 overall and 3-2 in the conference. Thiel fell to 0-6 overall and 0-5 in the league. 

All Fifteen Westminster players that saw action Saturday scored. Fifth-year Natalie Murrio (Pittsburgh, Pa., Brentwood) scored a game-high 17 points on 8-of-15 shooting. She has scored in double figures in six of Westminster's seven games this season. Graduate student Camden Hergenrother (Salem, Ohio, Cardinal Mooney) finished with 10 points, going 4-of-8 from the floor and 2-of-5 from three-point range. She added five rebounds, five assists, three steals and a pair of blocked shots. Senior Caitlyn Condoleon (Warren, Ohio, Warren JFK) had seven points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Westminster closed out the first quarter riding a 10-2 run and led by 11, 19-8, heading into the second. Thiel's Kelsey Seddon scored 23 seconds into the second to trim the lead to nine, 19-10, but the Titans outscored the Tomcats 22-0 over final 9:26 to lead 41-10 at halftime. Westminster used a quick 7-0 run to begin the third to go up 38, 48-10. Leading 60-20 after three, Westminster outscored Thiel 21-4 in the fourth to secure the 57-point victory. 

Westminster shot a combined 45.5 percent from the field in Saturday's win. The Titans posted a commanding 56-32 edge on the boards, including 16 offensive rebounds. The 56 rebounds were a season high. Westminster also outscored Thiel 50-8 in the paint while the Titans' bench outscored the Thiel reserves by a 38-5 margin. Westminster turned 18 Thiel turnovers into 24 points. 

Taylor Susany and Jensen Stehlik led Thiel with six points apiece. 

Westminster hosts Allegheny College Wednesday. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
