Westminster falls at Geneva

Beaver Falls, Pa.--The Westminster College women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) decision at Geneva Wednesday night inside Metheny Field House. 

Westminster is 16-12 overall and 4-5 in the conference this season, while Geneva moved to 11-11 overall and 4-5 in the PAC. 

Geneva jumped out to a 2-0 lead, winning the first and seconds 25-17, before Westminster bounced back with a 25-22 third set win. The Golden Tornadoes won the fourth set 25-16.

Seniors Saylee Grinnen (Wampum, Pa., Ellwood City) and Lauren Lampus (Sarver, Pa., Freeport) had 11 kills apiece. Grinnen added four service aces, a pair of bloks and five digs while Lampus had 10 digs. Junior Ava Ferringer (Venus, Pa., Cranberry) finished with 10 kills and six digs. 

Sophomore Angie Nardone (Ellwood City, Pa., Ellwood City) registered a 15-assist, 25-dig double-double. It was her eighth of the year. The 25 digs are a career high. Senior Reanna Daniels (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory) posted a 13-assist, 11-dig double-double, her eighth of the season. 

Senior Malia Duffy (Allison Park, Pa., North Allegheny) finished with 13 digs and 14 assists. It was her second-straight double-double.

Westminster will host Saint Vincent for Senior Day Saturday at Ron Galbreath Court inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium. Senior recognition will begin at 5:30 p.m.
