LATROBE, Pa. – The three-seeded Westminster men's lacrosse team lost, 10-7, at two-seeded Saint Vincent in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Tournament Semifinals Wednesday evening.
"I'm proud of the way we fought back after being down early," said head coach
Travis Brown. "I honestly feel for our whole program, especially our senior class. We had a plan to go much further than this, sometimes the bounces don't go your way. We will always be a hard-working group that never quits. We are still really excited for the future of our program."
In the second period, Westminster (10-5, 5-2 PAC) took the lead (6-5) and momentum after sophomore
Payton Waight (Ithaca, NY / Ithaca) scored his second goal of the game. However, in the third period, Saint Vincent (13-1, 6-1 PAC) was able to take the lead (7-6). In the fourth, the Titans scored a goal to build momentum, but the Bearcats were able to hold on to the lead.
Westminster was led by junior
Nick Hubner (Pittsburgh, PA / Plum), first-year
Gavin Jones (Henrico, VA / Douglas S. Freeman), and Waight, each of them registered a pair of goals. Senior
Bennett Webster (Penfield, NY / Penfield) tallied a goal.
