NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster baseball team lost, 14-9, at home against Franciscan in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup Sunday afternoon.

"Offensively we have been able to do a lot of good things so far," said head coach Pat Riley. "We like our depth and how we can matchup against a lot of teams. In order for us to be successful, the bats are going to play a pivotal role."

In the fourth inning, Westminster (12-5, 7-1 PAC) was able to take back a two-run lead after senior
Seth Schrader (Fredonia, NY / Fredonia) batted-in sophomore
Logan Murgenovich (Aliquippa, PA / Central Valley) to make it 7-5. Later on, in the seventh, Franciscan (10-8, 2-4 PAC) scored five runs to take the lead 11-9. Sophomore
Timothy Lewis (Southwest Harbor, ME / Wilmington Area) registered a game- and team-high five strikeouts in 5.2 innings on the mound.

Carter Chinn (Grove City, PA / Grove City), who went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs-batted-in, while senior
James Diamond James Diamond (Moon Twp, PA / Moon Area) went 2-for-5 with two runs-batted-in. Senior
Brandon Cooper (Oakdale, PA / West Allegheny) collected a pair of hits with three runs. Sophomore
Matthew Randza (Beaver Falls, PA / Blackhawk) tallied two hits and a run-batted-in.
