STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – The Westminster men's lacrosse team won, 23-5, on the road against Franciscan in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) bout Wednesday night.
"Every year we talk about peaking at the right time and playing our best lacrosse in late April through May," said head coach
Travis Brown. "I think our last four games show that we really have come together and we are clicking on all cylinders."
After the first period, Westminster (10-3, 5-1 PAC) held a 6-2 lead and never looked back. The Titans went on to score 16 unanswered goals between the second, third, and fourth periods.
Westminster was led by senior
Joe Rosa (Newton, NJ / Kittatinny Regional) who registered a game-high five goals with one assist. Rosa notched his 100
th career-goal, only the second player in program history to accomplish the feat. Junior
Ryan Greer (Cranberry Twp, PA / Seneca Valley) recorded a hat-trick of goals with a game- and season-high five assists. In the process, Greer set a new program record for most points in a season, currently at 62.
Brown added, "We're on to Saturday."
The Titans return to the field Saturday, April 30 as they host Grove City in a PAC contest. Start time is at 1 p.m.
