WHEELING, W. VA. – The Westminster men's golf team won the 2022 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship, its second-straight, after completing the third and final round of the PACs on Saturday.
The Titans shot a team score of 892 (293-292-307).
The Titans had three of the top-4 spots at the conclusion of the championship for All-PAC First Team honors, led by senior
Michael Bell (Canonsburg, PA / Peters Township) - who was the runner-up with a three-day score of 220 (70-75-75).
"We stuck to our game plan, tried to limit big numbers, and putting ourselves in good spots," said Bell, who was also named on the PAC Sportsmanship Team. "Looking forward to spending time with my team down in Florida (at the NCAAs), one last ride with them, have make it a good one."
Tying for third-place overall for All-PAC First Team honors were senior
Jonny Stuckert (Pittsburgh, PA / North Hills) and brother junior
Jacob Stuckert (Pittsburgh, PA / North Hills), who both shot a 223.
Earning All-PAC Second Team honors for the Titans were junior
Sam Napper (Mt Pleasant, PA / Mt Pleasant), who had a hole-in-one on Saturday and finished seventh overall (231), followed by junior
Calen Cummins (Allison Park, PA / Hampton) who placed eighth (232).
Nine-year Head Coach
Matt Torrence earned PAC Coach of the Year honors for the second time at the helm of the men's team.
Saturday's round was played at Oglebay Resort's Speidel Golf Club in Wheeling, W.Va.
The Division III Championships are scheduled for May 10-13 at the Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
