STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – The Westminster women's lacrosse team lost, 16-5, at Franciscan in its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener on Tuesday.
"I think we really just need to go back to the basics and focus on doing all the small things right," said head coach
Bethany Snider.
Senior
Magen Polczynski (Irwin, PA / Norwin) led the Titans with four points, including a hat trick.
"Magen has confidence all around the field and is able to command her teammates," Snider said. "We need to have the same confidence she has all around the field."
Westminster's (2-3, 0-1 PAC) first three goals were courtesy of Polczynski. Also scoring were junior
Stephanie Cimini (Mars, PA / Mars Area) and sophomore
Samantha Reed (Zionsville, PA / Emmaus).
Polczynski also had a game-high six ground balls, to go along with a team-high three draw controls. Cimini registered a game-best six caused turnovers and had five ground balls.
Titan senior goalkeeper
Emma Bradley (South Fayette, PA / South Fayette) earned a season-high 11 saves.
Franciscan improved to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the PAC.
The Titans are back on the field Friday, April 1 at PAC foe Chatham with a 7 p.m. start.
