MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Westminster baseball team finished the Ripken Experience Friday evening in a doubleheader against Framingham State. The Titans lost 8-2 in game one and lost 14-7 in game two.

"We saw a lot of good things this week," said head coach Pat Riley. "There are definitely other things we need to improve on. Overall, this week showed us a lot and I'm looking forward to seeing what we can do moving forward."

In game one, a single from junior
Frankie Manios (Warren, OH / Howland) through the left side brought in sophomore
Carter Chinn (Grove City, PA / Grove City) from second base, tying the game at one. However, Framingham (3-7) scored the next seven runs. First-year
Jake Vitale (New Castle, PA / Union) registered a career-best eight strikeouts.

In the top of the sixth in game two, Westminster (3-4) tied the game at 7-7 after
Sean Davis (Sharpsville, PA / Sharpsville) tagged up from third off a sacrifice fly from classmate
Austin Webb (Wadsworth, OH / Wadsworth). The Rams went on to score seven runs in the bottom of the sixth, putting the game out of reach. First-year
Kolton Banfi (Harrisville, PA / Franklin Area) notched a pair of strikeouts in the start.

The Titans were led by sophomore
Matthew Randza (Beaver Falls, PA / Blackhawk) who went a combined 4-for-6 with two runs-batted-in. Sophomore
Logan Murgenovich (Aliquippa, PA / Central Valley) went a combined 4-for-8 with a run-batted-in. Seniors
Seth Schrader (Fredonia, NY / Fredonia) and
James Diamond (Moon Twp, PA / Moon Area) went 2-for-4 in game two, while Schrader also tallied a run-batted-in.

Westminster is back in action Tuesday, March 22 as it hosts Pitt-Greensburg in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
