NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster women's basketball team picked up in 2022 where it left off in 2021 as it defeated Waynesburg, 65-50, at home in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup on Saturday.
In the first quarter, Waynesburg (1-9, 1-3 PAC) jumped out to an early 7-3 lead with 5:41 left in the first. Westminster (5-5, 2-2 PAC) finished the first quarter on a 13-7 run, capped by a layup from junior

Camden Hergenrother (Salem, OH / Cardinal Mooney). The Titans carried a two-point lead to the second quarter (16-14). The Titans started the second with the hot hand as they scored six of the first eight points (22-16) and led 30-24 lead to intermission.
In the middle of the third quarter, Westminster built onto its lead as it orchestrated an 11-0 run and held a 45-33 advantage at the start of the final quarter. The Titans' double-digit lead was too much for the Yellow Jackets to overcome, as they rode the momentum to victory.
Westminster was led by Hergenrother, who scored a game-high 19 points, five steals (both tied a career-best) to go along with seven rebounds, a game-best five assists. Junior
Natalie Murrio (Pittsburgh, PA / Brentwood) tallied 15 points, nine boards, and two blocks. Bell registered her sixth career double-double with 12 points and a game-high with 13 rebounds, her three blocks tied a career-high. First-year

Westminster is back on the court Monday, January 10 as it hosts Franciscan in a PAC bout. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
