NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster women's soccer team shut out the visiting Carlow Celtics under the lights of UPMC Sports Complex Tuesday night.
Westminster has now outscored its opponents 13-2 so far this season.
Junior
Julia Redilla (Cranberry Township, PA / Seneca Valley) scored the first goal of the contest off a penalty kick at the 6:44 mark. Redilla gathered in a loose ball at the top of the box for her second-straight goal at the 27:15 mark.
First-year
Allie Augustine (Cortland, OH / Lakeview) put Westminster ahead 3-0 with a goal in the 31:39 minute and the Titans took that lead into halftime.
In the second half, Redilla found junior
Sophia Kaplan (Mentor, OH / Mentor) for another Titan goal in the 59:44
th minute.
Redilla now leads the Titans in points this season with eight.
Senior goalkeeper
Camille Holzschuh (Youngstown, OH / Boardman) picked up another shutout on the season.
Westminster outshot Carlow, 33-5 (including 18-1 on goal). The Titans also held a 5-0 advantage corner kicks.
The Titans are back on the field Friday, September 10 with a road game at La Roche with a 5 p.m. start.
