DOVER, Ohio - The Westminster men's golf team placed second at the Gatorade Intercollegiate on Sunday with a two-day score of 580 (291-289), the lowest 36-hole total in program history – breaking a 24-year-old school-record of 591 set by legendary Head Coach Joe Fusco's team in the 1996-97 season.
Senior Johnny Stuckert (Pittsburgh, PA / North Hills) finished best for Westminster with a third-place score of 144 (71-73). Senior
Michael Bell (Canonsburg, PA / Peters Township) finished tied for sixth place with a score of 145 (72-73). Earning a spot tied for eleventh place was junior
Jacob Stuckert (Pittsburgh, PA / North Hills) with 147 (74-73). Rounding out top four scorers for Westminster were junior classmates Cal Cummins (Allison Park, PA / Hampton) and
Sam Napper (Mt. Pleasant, PA / Mt. Pleasant) tied with 148 (74-74) (78-70).
Westminster is back on the course on Thursday, September 9 when it travels to Grove City, Pa. to compete in the Grove City Invitational.
