GREENVILLE, Pa. - The Westminster men's golf team defeated the Thiel Tomcats by the score of 5.5 to 1.5 in match play at Avalon Lakes Golf and Country Club on Tuesday.
Westminster won five of the seven matches on the day. The Titans were led by senior
Michael Bell (Canonsburg, PA / Peters Township) in the No. 1 spot with a 3&2 win over Thiel's Luke Sadowski, followed by junior
Sam Napper (Mt. Pleasant, PA / Mt. Pleasant) winning by the score of 5&4. In the No. 4 spot junior
Jacob Stuckert (Pittsburgh, PA / North Hills) earned a 3&2 victory over Logan Pistorius.
The other two victories for the Titans came from senior
John Popa (Salem, OH / South Range) in the No. 5 spot with a 4&2 victory and first-year
Logan Marnik (Carnegie, PA / Chartiers Valley) by the score of 1UP in the No. 7 spot.
Junior
Calen Cummins (Allison Park, PA / Hampton) lost his match, 1UP in the No. 2 slot. First-year
Gavin Batdorff (Berlin Center, OH / South Range) halved his matchup in the No. 5 hole.
The Titans are back on the course on Saturday, September 25 as they travel to Alliance, Ohio to compete in the Mount Union Invitational.
