LIGONIER, Pa. - The Westminster men's golf team defeated the Penn State-Altoona Nittany Lions by the score of 4.5 to 2.5 in match play format at the Laurel Valley Golf Course on Tuesday. The match was sponsored by Lee Hite '66.
Westminster won four of the seven matches on the day, led by senior
Michael Bell (Canonsburg, PA / Peters Township) in the No.1 spot with a win over Penn State's Andrew Ferguson. The three other wins came from the hands of junior classmates
Sam Napper (Mt. Pleasant, PA / Mt. Pleasant) and
Jacob Stuckert (Pittsburgh, PA / North Hills), followed by first-year
Gavin Batdorff (Berlin Center, OH / South Range). Junior
Calen Cummins (Allison Park, PA / Hampton) halved his match.
The Titans are back on the course on Friday, September 17 as they travel to Altoona, Pa. to compete in the two-day Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic.
