Women’s Lacrosse: Titans Drop Non-Conference Bout at Franciscan

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio - The Westminster College women's lacrosse team lost, 22-9 on the road in their final non-conference matchup of the season against Franciscan University on Monday.

Franciscan (2-1, 0-1 PAC) got ahead of Westminster (0-4, 0-1 PAC) when it scored five of the first six goals of the game to take a 5-1 lead at the 19:04 mark of the first half. The Titans proceeded to score three-straight goals, capped off by a tally by first-year Samantha Reed (Zionsville, PA / Emmaus) to cut the Barons lead to 5-4. However, that would be the closest the Titans would come as Franciscan went on an 8-1 run to end the half and led the rest of the contest.

Titan sophomore Ava Krensky (Bethesda, MD / Walter Johnson) led with a team-high three goals to go along with one assist. Krensky also had a team-high 10 draw controls. Reed and classmate Stephanie Cimini (Mars, PA / Mars Area) each tallied two goals. First-year Nina Rascona (Somerset, PA / Somerset Area) totaled four ground balls and three caused turnovers (both team-highs).

Junior goalkeeper Emma Bradley (South Fayette, PA / South Fayette) made 12 saves in a complete game effort.

Westminster is back in action on Wednesday, April 7 when it returns to conference play for a tilt with Waynesburg University on the road at 7 p.m.
