Women’s Soccer: Titans Defeat Bison on the Road, Improve to 2-0

BETHANY, W.V. – The Westminster College women's soccer team won, 2-1, against Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Bethany College for their first road win of the season on Saturday.

In the first half, Westminster (2-0) struck first when sophomore Sophia Kaplan (Mentor, OH / Mentor) deposited a goal into the back of the net in the 16th minute. Bethany (0-2) had the answer just eight minutes later, as Riley Meyers scored to knot the game up at one apiece. The score held at 1-1 into intermission. In the second half, Westminster increased the pressure, firing off the first three shots of the period and finally broke through in the 83rd minute with a goal when to give themselves a 2-1 lead, a lead it would hold for the rest of the contest.

Junior goalkeeper Camille Holzschuh (Youngstown, OH / Boardman) earned the victory in a complete-game effort.
