ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Westminster women's basketball team lost, 78-58, on the road against Mount Union in a nonconference game on Saturday afternoon.
As the first quarter concluded, Mount Union (3-4) held a 22-12 lead. Junior
Camden Hergenrother (Salem, OH / Cardinal Mooney) scored six points in the first. At intermission, the Purple Raiders led Westminster (3-4), 42-28. As for Hergenrother, she scored another six points in the second. In the second half, the Purple Raiders maintained their double-digit lead for the remainder of the game.
Hergenrother led the Titans with a career-high 19 points, a team-high four assists, and a season- and team-best four steals. Junior
Natalie Murrio (Pittsburgh, PA / Brentwood) chipped in with 12 points, four boards, a season-high two blocks, and two steals, followed by classmate
Lindsay Bell (Youngstown, OH / Ursuline) with ten points, seven rebounds, and a career-high three blocks.
Westminster shot 32.8% (19-58) from the field and 82.6% (19-23) from the free throw line
The Titans are back on the court Thursday, December 30 as they host Shenandoah in a nonconference matchup. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
