Men’s Basketball: Titans Dominant Over Bethany on Senior Day

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College men's basketball team won, 79-56, over Bethany College in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Senior Day Saturday afternoon.

Westminster (11-13, 9-6 PAC) had a five-point, 14-9 lead in the first half. The Titans extended their 16-14 lead with 9:58 to go to a 33-22 lead at halftime, following a 17-8 run.

Westminster maintained its double-digit lead in the second half and led by as much as 31 points (79-48) with two minutes left. Bethany dropped to 4-19 overall and 3-11 in the conference.
Titan senior Austin Armwood (Columbus, OH / Westerville North) scored a game-high 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including a game-best three three-pointers. Armwood also added two rebounds and tied a team-high three assists. Junior Dylan O'Hara (Girard, OH / Girard) and sophomore Isaac Stamatiades (Elkridge, MD / Avalon) each finished with a double-double (O'Hara's third of his career and Stamatiades's fourth). O'Hara and Stamatiades tied for a game-high 10 rebounds. O'Hara finished second with 14 points, to go along with two assists. Stamatiades finished with 13 points and chipped in with a block and a steal. Senior African Grant II (Warren, OH / Warren JFK) finished with eight points and five rebounds. Junior Blake Payne (Ashtabula, OH / Jefferson Area) scored eight points and added a game-high five offensive rebounds (eight total) and tied a game-high with two blocks.

Westminster outshot Bethany, 45.7% (32-70) to 37.5% (21-56). The Titans also outrebounded Bethany, 52-30.

The Titans recognized Armwood and Grant before the game.

The Titans will finish the regular season with a PAC matchup at Grove City College, Wednesday, February 13 at 7:30 PM.
