Women’s Basketball: Titans Move To 3-0 With Win Over Hornets

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Westminster College women's basketball team defeated non-conference opponent, Kalamazoo College, by a score of 87-51 on the road Friday evening in the first day of the Manchester Tip-Off Tournament.
 
Westminster (3-0) jumped out to a 28-8 lead over Kalamazoo (0-2) at the end of the first quarter. The Titans led 44-27 at the end of the first half.  

In the second half, the Titans extended their lead to 61-37 at the end of the third and mounted a 26-point fourth quarter to seal the victory.
 
The Titans shot 44.6% (33-74) from the field and 28.6% (6-22) from beyond the arc, while recording a 88.2% mark from the charity stripe. Kalamazoo was 28.6% (14-49) from the field and 36.8% (7-19) from three. The Titans outrebounded the Hornets 51-27. The Titans also forced 21 turnovers on the Hornets. 
 
Junior guard Alazia Greaves (West Sunbury, PA / Moniteau) tallied a career-high 20 points on a 7-11 night from the field. Greaves also snagged seven rebounds. Sophomore guard Magen Polczynski (Irwin, PA / Norwin) recorded 19 points off of a 8-13 mark from the field. Polczynski also grabbed five rebounds and knocked down a pair of three-pointers. Senior forward Emily Fromknecht (Erie, PA / McDowell) recorded a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. First-year guard Camden Hergenrother (Salem, OH / Cardinal Mooney) notched eight points, and grabbed six rebounds. Senior forward Kayla Bennett (Kent, OH / Theodore Roosevelt) scored 12 points to go along with seven rebounds and first-year guard Natalie Murrio (Pittsburgh, PA / Brentwood) contributed four points.
 
Westminster will be back on the court Saturday, November 16 on the road when it takes on Manchester in the second day of the two-day Manchester Tip-Off Tournament at 3 p.m.
