WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Westminster College women's basketball team lost, 73-57, to Waynesburg University in conference action on the road Saturday afternoon.

Emily Fromknecht (Erie, PA / McDowell) led all scorers with 19 points (8-of-14), the second highest point total of her career. E. Fromknecht also tied with first-year
Alazia Greaves (West Sunbury, PA / Moniteau) with a team-high five rebounds. Junior
Jackie Mathews (Pittsburgh, PA / OLSH) also scored in double-digits for Westminster with 13 points. Mathews tied a game-high with three three-pointers. Sophomore
Brooke Lyczek (Cranberry Twp, PA / Seneca Valley) added nine points, while sophomore
Kylie Cook (Pittsburgh, PA / Mount Lebanon) had five. Sophomore
Francesca Sicari (Erie, PA / McDowell) dished out a team-best three assists. Senior
Kristine Fromknecht (Erie, PA / McDowell) tied a game-best with three steals.
Waynesburg (12-9, 8-6 PAC) started the game strong with a 17-5 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Yellow Jackets maintained their double-digit lead in the second quarter and led 43-23 at halftime. Westminster (7-14, 3-11 PAC), who was down by 25 points early in the fourth quarter, got Waynesburg's lead down to 70-56 with 2:53 left, but that would be the closest the Titans would get for the remainder of the contest.
The Yellow Jackets outshot the Titans, 40.7% (24-59) to 34.6% (18-52), and outrebounded Westminster, 42-31.
The Titans will next host nationally ranked Thomas More College in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m.
