GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Westminster College volleyball team won, 3-1, at Grove City College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest Tuesday night.
The Titans improved to 24-2 overall and 11-1 in the PAC, while the Wolverines dropped to 5-16 overall and 5-7 in the conference.
Grove City led late in set one, 19-17, however the Titans finished the frame with an 8-1 run to win the set, 25-20. The Titans had a comfortable 22-14 lead in set two. The Wolverines, however, outscored the Titans, 11-1, to tie the match at 1. The Titans took a double-digit lead in the third set (23-13) and went in front, 2-1, after winning the set, 25-19. Westminster led the entire fourth set and won the match with a 25-14 set four victory.

Reilly DeGeorge (Ashtabula, OH / Saint John) totaled a match-high 18 kills. Sophomore
Josie Toporcer (Warren, OH / Lordstown) also had double-digit kills with a career-high 11, while first-year
Becky Adelman (Mogadore, OH / Waterloo) earned nine. Senior
Rachel Moore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) led the Titan defense with 23 digs. DeGeorge (18), senior
Mackensie Garris (Meadville, PA / Saegertown) (17), first-year
Samantha Kelly (Irwin, PA / Penn-Trafford) (14), and Toporcer (10) also had double-digit kills. Garris's and Kelly's dig totals matched a career-high for both. Adelman added a match- and career-high eight blocks, the most in a single match by any Titan this year. Kelly also had a career-high and team-high 25 assists, to go along with a match-high two aces. Shanna Daniels (Hermitage, PA / Billy C. Ryan) added 19 assists and one ace. Senior
Delaney Saxton (Cortland, OH / Brookfield) and sophomore
Megan Steele (Corry, PA / Corry) both had three blocks.
Westminster completed the season sweep of Grove City on Tuesday as it shut out the Wolverines, 3-0, at home on September 29.
The Titans will host Bethany College (17-8, 9-2 PAC) Thursday, October 18 at 7 p.m.
