CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Westminster College men's basketball team lost, 72-65, at Thomas More College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) showdown Wednesday evening.
Westminster (9-2, 3-1 PAC) started the game with a 4-0 lead, however, Thomas More (8-4, 4-1 PAC) went on a 10-0 run and led 10-4 with 12:46 on the clock. The Saints followed with a double-digit lead (20-10) with 9:21 left in the first half. Thomas More had its largest lead of the frame (24-12) with 7:13 remaining. The Titans answered with a 13-2 run to cut the Saints' lead to 26-25. Thomas More led 28-25 at intermission.
In the second half, the Titans took their first lead (32-30) since the opening minutes, when sophomore
Cameron Kane-Johnson (Niles, OH / Niles) made a jumper with 18:30 on the clock. Four ties followed with the latest at 43-43 with 11:55 left. The Titans went on a 7-2 run, capped off with a three-pointer by junior
Dylan O'Hara (Girard, OH / Girard), and took their largest lead of the game, 50-45. Thomas More responded with an 11-2 run and led 56-52 with 5:16 remaining. Westminster tied the game at 60 after Kane-Johnson made a three with 3:20 left. Saints jumped ahead by four points, however, junior
Austin Armwood (Columbus, OH / Westerville North) cut their lead to 64-63 with a three-pointer with 1:23 remaining. That, however, would be the closest Westminster would get for the remainder of the contest as the Saints outscored the Titans 8-2 for the rest of the game.
Armwood tied a career-high with a game-high 24 points (9-of-16). Armwood made a career- and game-high five three-pointers. Kane-Johnson scored 17 points, while senior
Deontay Scott (Youngstown, OH / East) had 10. Scott added six rebounds, while Kane-Johnson had five. O'Hara tallied career-highs in rebounds (a team-high seven) and points (5). Senior

Lloyd Chatman (Columbus, OH / Reynoldsburg) tied a game-best with three assists.
The Saints outshot Westminster 44.4% (28-63) to 41.0% (25-61) and outrebounded the Titans, 41-33. The loss snapped a six-game winning streak for Westminster.
Westminster is back on the court Saturday, January 6 at home against Waynesburg University with a 3:30 p.m. start time.
