Women’s Lacrosse: Titans Score Season-High at Thiel

GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Westminster College women's lacrosse team lost, 20-14, at Thiel College in Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) action Wednesday night.
 
Titan first-year Bria Braddock (Beaver Falls, PA / Blackhawk) tied a game-high with a season-high seven goals. Sophomore Emily D'Amico (Moon Township, PA / Moon Area), junior Sarah Nutter (Pittsburgh, PA / North Hills), and first-year Josie Banks (Winter Garden, FL / West Orange) each recorded two goals, while senior Anne Tillie (Fallston, MD / Fallston) had one. Senior goalkeeper Jesse Reichard (State College, PA / State College) collected seven saves in 60 minutes of work.
 
The Titans held an 18-16 advantage in ground balls, while the Tomcats were up 26-10 in draw controls. Braddock tied a game-high with four ground balls. Braddock and first-year Sara Morini (Cranesville, PA / Northwestern) each had a team-high three draw controls.
 
Westminster led 5-3 with 15:40 to play in the first half. Braddock (28:49, 23:56), Tillie (17:41), Banks (17:05), D'Amico (15:40) scored the Titan goals. Thiel, however, scored three-straight goals to go up 6-5 with 12:37 remaining in the frame. Braddock tied the game at 6 with her third goal of the game with 6:13 to go, however, the Tomcats answered with two-straight goals and led 8-6 with 5:31 remaining. After Braddock registered her fourth goal of the game at the 3:26 mark, Thiel tallied four consecutive goals to close out the half with a 12-7 lead. The Tomcats outscored the Titans, 8-7, in the second half. The Titans got within four points of Thiel's lead (13-9) after D'Amico scored with 26:38 to play, but that would be closest they would get for the remainder of the contest.
 
The Titans will next host ORLC foe Waynesburg University on Wednesday April 19 at 7:30 p.m.
