NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's lacrosse team lost, 14-4, at home to Mount St. Joseph University in Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) action on Saturday.
The Lions outscored the Titans 6-3 in the first half and 8-1 in the second half.
The Titans led 2-0 after a goal each by first-year
Bria Braddock (Beaver Falls, PA / Blackhawk) (28:15) and sophomore
Emily D'Amico (Moon Township, PA / Moon Area) (25:46). After Mount St. Joseph scored two goals to tie the game at 2, D'Amico scored her second of the game at the 11:59 mark to put Westminster back in front, 3-2. The Lions then scored nine-straight goals and led 12-3 with 12:45 remaining in the second half. Braddock netted her second goal of the game at the 9:18 mark, followed by two more goals by the Lions.
Both teams had 27 ground balls. D'Amico led the Titans with a season-high six ground balls. The Lions held a 13-7 advantage in draw controls. Senior
Anne Tillie (Fallston, MD / Fallston) gathered in a game-high three draw controls. Titan senior goalkeeper
Jesse Reichard (State College, PA / State College) tied a season-high with 10 saves in 60 minutes of work.
The Titans will next host ORLC foe Franklin College Sunday, April 23 at 1:30 p.m.
