PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Westminster College women's basketball team fell to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent Chatham University, 58-46, on the road Wednesday evening.
Titan sophomore
Emily Fromknecht (Erie, PA / McDowell) had a game- and career-high 17 rebounds, to go along with a team-best 15 points. The double-double for E. Fromknecht was her second of the season and seventh of her career. Senior

Ashley Russell (Belle Vernon, PA / Belle Vernon) scored a career-high six points off the bench for the Titans. Sophomore
Aliya Gage (New Castle, PA / Mohawk) finished with seven rebounds and five points. Senior
Paige Quinn (Pittsburgh, PA / Shaler) pocketed a team-high two steals, to go along with five points.
The Titans found the lead early in the first quarter when Gage made a jump shot at the 6:04 mark, putting the Titans ahead 6-3. Chatham, however, held the Titans to just three points in the remaining 3:56 and took an 11-9 lead at the end of one.
Chatham started the second quarter with an 11-2 run, holding on to a 22-11 lead. Westminster cut the double-digit lead to seven (22-15) with 1:40 remaining, but Chatham's Olivia Barkley hit a jump shot with 18 seconds left to give the Cougars a nine-point lead (24-15) at halftime. Chatham opened the third quarter with an 8-2 run and finished the third quarter leading 39-26. The Cougars maintained their double-digit lead for the remainder of the contest.
Chatham outshot Westminster 32.8% (19-58) to 31.4% (16-51). The Titans held a 45-36 advantage in rebounds.
The Titans dropped to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the conference, while Chatham improved to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in PAC play.
Westminster is back on the court Saturday, Dec. 2 at home vs. PAC foe Washington & Jefferson College. Tip-off is at 1:30 p.m.
