NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's basketball team lost, 83-62, to the No. 5 Thomas More College in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action at home Thursday night.

Jackie Mathews (Pittsburgh, PA / OLSH) scored a career-high 23 points, which included a game-high five three pointers. Senior
Rachel Durbin (Lowellville, OH / Lowellville) registered 11 points, while junior
Kylie Cook (Pittsburgh, PA / Mount Lebanon) had 10. First-year
Emily Fromknecht (Erie, PA / McDowell) and junior
Paige Quinn (Pittsburgh, PA / Shaler) added six and five points, respectively.
Emily Fromknecht grabbed down a team-high 10 rebounds, while also leading Westminster in assists (4), blocks (2), and steals (3).
Thomas More (12-0, 5-0 PAC) outshot Westminster (5-7, 0-5 PAC) 44.6% (33-74) to 37.5% (21-56) and outrebounded the Titans 41-37.
Westminster led 4-2 with 7:37 remaining in the first quarter. Thomas More responded with a 12-0 run to take a 14-4 lead with 3:35 remaining. The Saints led 21-10 at the end of one. Thomas More led 24-10 with 9:47 left in the second, however, the Titans orchestrated a 14-6 run and cut the Saints' lead to 29-24 with 3:45 remaining in the half. Thomas More finished the half with a 10-5 run and led 39-26. The Saints maintained its double-digit lead in the third quarter and led 60-44 at the end of the frame. The Saints had their largest lead of the game when it led 74-51 with 6:31 remaining in the fourth.
The Titans will next host Waynesburg University on Saturday, January 7 at 1:30 p.m.
