ALTOONA, Pa. – The Westminster College women's soccer team lost, 1-0, on the road to Penn State Altoona in a non-conference game Wednesday night.  
 
The Lions (1-1) broke the scoreless game with a goal at the 48:37 mark in the second half when Caroline Menges found Shoshana Mahoney for a score from 20 yards out.
 
Westminster (0-2-1) out-shot Penn State 26-16.  The Titans also held a 14-9 shots-on-goal advantage, led by junior Melissa Thomas (Hubbard, OH / Hubbard) and sophomore Angela Bowell (Youngstown, OH / Ursuline) who each had three.
 
Titan junior goalkeeper Laura Page (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) collected nine saves in 90 minutes.
 
The game was delayed in the second half due to lightning.
 
Westminster will next travel to Marietta College (OH) on Saturday, September 10 with a start time of 5 p.m.
