NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's soccer team lost, 2-0, to Allegheny College at home in its last non-conference game of the regular season.
After a scoreless first half, the Gators (3-4-1) scored their first goal at the 53
rd minute when Colleen Fleming made a move past a Titan defender and scored in the far lower post. Allegheny added insurance when Jessie Thiessen dribbled past the Titan defense and scored in the near upper post.
For the game, Westminster (4-4-2) out-shot Allegheny, 13-8, including a 6-4 shots-on-goal advantage. Allegheny had a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Sophomore
Keely Birsic (North Ridgeville, OH / Elyria Catholic) and junior
Melissa Thomas (Hubbard, OH / Hubbard) each registered a game-high two shots-on-goal.
Titan junior goalkeeper
Laura Page (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) earned one save in 90 minutes.
Westminster is back in action Saturday, October 1 when it hosts Thiel College for both teams' Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener at 3:30 p.m.
