Thiel (1-8-1, 0-0 PAC) scored first off the foot of Katelyn Labos in the 42
nd minute. Titan sophomore
Keely Birsic (North Ridgeville, OH / Elyria Catholic) tied the game, 1-1, with a goal from a penalty kick in the 44
th minute. The score remained at intermission.
First-year
Josie Banks (Winter Garden, FL / West Orange) put Westminster (5-4-2, 1-0-0 PAC) in front, 2-1, with a header in the 56
th minute; Birsic earned the assist. Junior
Melissa Thomas (Hubbard, OH / Hubbard) netted the eventual game-winner with a goal in the 75
th minute. Thiel cut Westminster's lead to 3-2 after Emma Polinski scored at the 82:14 mark.
Westminster out-shot Thiel, 17-8, including a 9-4 on goal advantage.
Titan junior goalkeeper
Laura Page (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) earned two saves in 81:44 minutes of work.
Westminster will next travel to Geneva College on Wednesday, October 5 with a 5 p.m. start time.
