NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's basketball team lost, 69-62, to Chatham University in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action at home Saturday.
 
The Titans dropped to 3-3 overall and 0-2 in the PAC, while the Cougars improved to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
 
Titan first-year Emily Fromknecht (Erie, PA / McDowell) registered the second double-double of her career as she scored a career-high 15 points and grabbed down a game- and career-high 15 rebounds. Sophomore Jackie Mathews (Pittsburgh, PA / OLSH) scored a team- and career-high 17 points. First-year Brooke Lyczek (Cranberry PA / Seneca) added nine points, which came from a team-best three three-pointers. Junior Kristine Fromknecht (Erie, PA / McDowell) added nine rebounds and tied with first-year Aliya Gage (New Castle, PA / Mohawk) for a team-high three assists. Sophomore Jackie Mathews (Pittsburgh, PA / OLSH) tied a game-high four steals.
 
The game was back-and-forth for the majority of the game, as there were 11 ties and 13 lead changes.
 
Chatham outshot Westminster 37.9% (22-58) to 32.1% (18-56). The Titans held a 43-36 advantage in rebounds.
 
Westminster led 6-1 with 4:31 remaining in the first quarter, however, Chatham went on an 11-2 run and led 12-8 with 1:57 on the clock. The Cougars led 15-13 at the end of one. Chatham took its largest lead of the half (29-23) when Natalie Knab made a three-pointer with 3:22 remaining. The Titans orchestrated a 9-3 run and tied it at 32 with 26 seconds remaining. Chatham's Eden Bloom made a layup at the buzzer and led 34-32 at intermission.
 
Westminster was down 43-42 with 4:51 remaining in the third quarter, however responded with an 8-0 run to take its largest lead of the game (50-43) with 1:21 on the clock. The Cougars started the fourth quarter with an 11-0 run and led 54-50 with 5:36 remaining. Chatham maintained the lead for the remainder of the game, while having its largest (62-52) with 2:50 on the clock.
 
The Titans are back on the court Tuesday, December 6 when they host Kalamazoo College (MI) in a non-conference game. Tip off is set for 6 p.m.
