NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Westminster College men's basketball team lost, 81-66, at Muskingum University Thursday night.
Three Titans scored in double digits, led by junior
Jarret Vrabel (Canfield, OH / Canfield) with 17 points. Senior
Jason Pilarski (Pittsburgh, PA / Brentwood) scored 15 points, while junior
Deontay Scott (Youngstown, OH / East) tallied 14. Sophomore
Austin Armwood (Columbus, OH / Westerville North) added nine points. Vrabel, Scott, and senior
Cameron Pozsgai (Windham, OH / Windham) led Westminster on the glass with six rebounds each. Scott also had a team-high four assists, while junior
Brandon Domenick (New Castle, PA / New Castle) earned three.
Westminster (6-4) outshot Muskingum (7-2) 45.0% (27-60) to 44.3% (31-70). The Muskies outrebounded the Titans 46-31.
Westminster led by as much as six points twice in the first half, with the latest coming with 8:38 remaining (22-16). Muskingum responded with a 16-6 run to take a 32-28 lead with 2:50 on the clock. The Muskies led 34-32 at halftime. The Titans led 44-43 with 14:52 left in the second half, however, that would be their last lead for the remainder of the game. Muskingum pulled away after a 22-8 run and led 65-52 with 6:39 to play.
The Titans are back in action Thursday, December 29 when they travel to Kenyon College (OH) for a 7 p.m. matchup.
