WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College men's basketball team won, 62-57, at Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Washington & Jefferson College on Saturday.
Titan junior
Deontay Scott (Youngstown, OH / East) led all scorers with 19 points, which included a perfect 5-for-5 from the field and 9-for-9 from the free throw line. Junior
Jarret Vrabel (Canfield, OH / Canfield) and sophomore
Austin Armwood (Columbus, OH / Westerville North) registered nine and eight points, respectively. Junior
Brandon Domenick (New Castle, PA / New Castle) and freshman
Cameron Kane-Johnson (Niles, OH / Niles) each had seven points. Vrabel tied a game-high with eight rebounds, while Scott and senior
Cameron Pozsgai (Windham, OH / Windham) had seven apiece. Sophomore
African Grant II (Warren, OH / Warren) tied a game-high with three blocks, while Scott added two steals.
The Titans improved to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the PAC, while the Presidents fell to 0-8 overall and 0-3 in league play.
Westminster never trailed in the game and had its largest lead of 18 points when it led 47-29 with 10:10 remaining in the second half. The Titans led 32-18 at halftime. W&J outscored Westminster, 39-30, in the second half.
W&J outshot the Titans 41.2% (21-51) to 33.3% (19-57). Westminster outrebounded the Presidents, 46-29.
The Titans are back on the court Monday, December 19 with a PAC contest at Bethany College (WV), starting at 5 p.m.
