WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College men's and women's swimming & diving teams split their Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) dual meet opener at Washington & Jefferson College Wednesday evening.
The Titan men's team (3-1, 1-0 PAC) won 181-111, while the Titan women's team (2-2, 0-1 PAC) lost 150-148.
For the men's team, junior
Mitch Stahara (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) won three individual events (1,000 freestyle/10:37.11, 100 freestyle/47.95, and the 100 butterfly/54.16) and was the first leg of the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:27.50). Sophomore
Michael Spencer (Clearfield, PA / Clearfield), junior
Scott Morosetti (Pittsburgh, PA / South Park), and junior
Daniel Bogen (Canfield, OH / Canfield) completed the quartet.
Freshman
Aaron Dunlany (Boardman, OH / Boardman) won three individual events (200 freestyle/1:50.49, 200 butterfly/2:06.12, and 500 freestyle/5:08.08).
The 200 medley relay, consisting of sophomore
David Peffer (Ellwood City, PA / Riverside), senior
Sam Angelo (Warren, OH / Warren G. Harding), junior
Brad Kolesar (West Mifflin, PA / West Mifflin), and freshman
Matt Kwalick (Sewickley, PA / Quaker Valley), won with a time of 1:41.07. Peffer also won the 100 backstroke (54.75) and the 200 backstroke (1:59.24), while Angelo touched first in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.67). Freshman

For the women's team, senior
Anne Tillie (Fallston, MD / Fallston) won the 1,000 freestyle (11:05.70), the 200 backstroke (2:18.64), and the 500 freestyle (5:30.18). Senior
Mikayla Morrow (Columbiana, OH / Homeschool) touched first in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.35) and the 200 breaststroke (2:35.36).
Junior
Megan Douds (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) placed first in the 200 butterfly (2:18.73) and was the first leg of the winning 200 medley relay team (1:53.87). First-year

Nicole Stengel (Pittsburgh, PA / Carlynton), and sophomore
Carolyn Novak (Pittsburgh, PA / Upper St. Clair) completed the team. Jones also won the 100 IM (1:03.59).
Westminster is back in action Saturday, November 19 with a dual meet at PAC foe Chatham University at 1 p.m.
