BETHANY, W.V. – The Westminster College women's basketball team lost, 76-52, at Bethany College in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action Wednesday night.
Westminster (1-13, 1-6 PAC) led 14-8 with 3:34 remaining in the first quarter after junior
Rachel Durbin (Lowellville, OH / Lowellville) split a pair of free throws. Bethany (6-8, 4-3 PAC) responded with a 7-2 run to finish the frame, cutting the Titans' lead to 16-15.
The Bison took their first lead (23-21) with 8:17 on the clock in the second quarter and out-scored Westminster 19-7 for the remainder of the half and led 42-28 at halftime. Bethany would maintain its double-digit lead for the remainder of the contest.
Sophomore
Kristine Fromknecht (Erie, PA / McDowell) led the Titan offense as she tied a game-high with 15 points, her second-highest point total of the season. Durbin scored 10 points, while first-year
Annie Popoff (Erie, PA / Mercyhurst Prep) scored nine. Sophomore
Danielle Dindak (West Homestead, PA / Serra Catholic) and sophomore
Paige Quinn (Pittsburgh, PA / Shaler) added six and five points, respectively. Quinn also had a team-high three assists. Durbin grabbed a game- and season-high 10 rebounds.
Kendell Dickson (Cochranton, PA / Conchranton) and classmate
Kylie Cook (Pittsburgh, PA / Mount Lebanon) added seven and five rebounds, respectively.
Westminster will next play at Geneva College on Saturday with a start time of 5:30 p.m.
