NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -The 2014 Westminster College football team tallied its most conference wins since 2011 under first-year head coach Scott Benzel. The Titans ended the season 4-6 overall and 4-4 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) for a sixth-place conference finish.
11 Titans also saw individual success, being named to the 2014 PAC All-Conference Teams. Senior defensive lineman Richard Ellebie (Farrell, Pa./Kennedy Christian) and sophomore kicker Justin Dahl (Cochranton, Pa./Maplewood) led the charge with First-Team honors. Additionally, freshman defensive back Todd Jeter (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) was tabbed Second Team, while eight others were named to the Honorable Mention Team.
Ellebie is only the second Westminster defensive lineman to earn First-Team honors since 2005. The Farrell, Pa. native posted career-highs in tackles (65), tackles for a loss (8), and sacks (3). Ellebie's marker of 65 was also first on the team and third in the PAC in tackles by a defensive lineman.
Dahl placed second in the conference with eight made field goals, knotting him for fourth in program history for field goals in a season. He tied for second in the PAC in scoring out of a kicker, averaging 5.4 points per game. His 90.9 (30-33) point-after-touchdown kicking percentage was also second best in the PAC.
Jeter tied for sixth in the conference in tackles by a defensive back with 58 (5.8 per game). He finished seventh in the PAC with 11 passes defended and tied for eighth with two forced fumbles. Jeter also had three interceptions on the year.
Honorable Mention honorees included: junior offensive lineman Nick Fiorentino (Franklin, Pa./Franklin), junior offensive lineman Dylan Hogue (Sharpsville, Pa./Sharpsville), freshman wide receiver Khurazze Williams (Lakeworth, Fla./Santaluces Community), freshman quarterback Paul Columbo (Boca Raton, Fla./West Boca Raton Community), freshman running back Dominique McKinley (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Salem), freshman linebacker CJ Armstrong (Lake Worth, Fla./Park Vista), junior Justin Shaw (Monaca, Pa./Central Valley), and senior Jared Heck (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills).
