BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Westminster College volleyball team split its two matches at the D'Youville College tri-match on Saturday.
The Titans (8-19) lost to Wells College 3-2 (14-25, 25-16, 25-21, 26-28, 16-14) in their first match and rebounded with a shutout over D'Youville, 3-0 (25-14,25-18,25-22) in the second match.
Against Wells (12-7), Titan sophomore
Lexie Yoho (Pittsburgh, PA / Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) had a team- and career-high 21 kills, to go along with 10 digs. Senior
Megan Prybyl (Mars, PA / North Catholic) also had double-digit kills with 10. Senior
Tiffany Jackson (Las Vegas, NV / Las Vegas) had a team-high 25 assists, while first-year
Shanna Daniels (Edinburg, PA / Billy C. Ryan, TX) added 18. Daniels and Rachel Mooore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) led Westminster on defense with 16 digs apiece. First-year (Darlington, PA / Blackhawk) had a team- and career-high six blocks.
Yoho also led the offense against D'Youville (3-16) with a match-high 13 kills. Moore and Daniels paced the defense with 15 and 10 digs, respectively. Daniels and Jackson earned 13 and 12 assists, respectively.
Westminster will next travel to Bethany College on Tuesday with a start time of 7 p.m.
