CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. - The Westminster College women's basketball team fell to Thomas More College 71-43, today on the road. The Titans dropped to 2-10 overall and 2-4 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference, while the Saints stayed undefeated in the PAC at 6-0 and are 10-3 overall.
The Saints extended their 34-20 halftime lead in the first ten minutes of the second half with a 21-6 run to take control of the game.
Freshman forward Courtney Zitt (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) led the Titans offense with nine points, while sophomore guard Gabby Holko (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Alvernia) added eight. Junior guard Katie Grandy (Sharpsville, Pa./ Sharpsville) and freshman forward Jenna Grandy (Sharpsville, Pa./Sharpsville) added five points each.
Senior forward Emily Dolsak (McDonald, Ohio/McDonald) and freshman forward Courtney Klein (York, Pa./Red Lion) led Westminster on the glass with a game-high 10 rebounds each, Klein's career high.
Thomas More forced 30 Titans turnovers, while yielding 16 of its own. The Saints outshot and outrebounded the Titans 39.3% (24-for-61) to 29.4% (15-51) and 41-36, respectively.
Westminster looks to get back in the win column next Wednesday (Jan. 11) as it travels to Chatham University at 7 p.m.
