GREENVILLE, Pa. - Freshman forward Andi Ridge (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Starpoint) scored a career-high 16 points to help lead the Westminster College women's basketball team to a 71-51 win at Thiel Saturday in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game.
The Titans improve to 9-14 on the season and 7-6 in the PAC. The Tomcats drop to 6-16 and 2-10 in the league.
Ridge, who shot 7-14 from the floor, also posted team highs with seven rebounds and three steals.
Senior guard Amy Dolsak (McDonald, Ohio/McDonald) also scored 12 points for Westminster, followed by sophomore forward Emily Dolsak (McDonald, Ohio/McDonald) and freshman forward Katie Hughes (Boardman, Ohio/Cardinal Mooney) with eight points apiece.
Ashley Davis led Thiel with game-high totals of 24 points and 13 rebounds.
Westminster shot 36.6 percent (26-71) from the floor compared to Thiel at 40.4 percent (19-47). The Titans held a 45-37 rebound advantage and committed six fewer turnovers (18-12) than Thiel.
The Titans led the entire game, taking their first 10-point lead (23-13) of the game at the 9:00 mark of the first half, and a 20-point gap (39-19) with 2:50 remaining in the first half.
After a enjoying a 41-23 halftime lead, Westminster would lead by as many as 26 points (69-43) in the second half and no fewer than 19 points.
Westminster travels to Geneva on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
