Women's Basketball: Amy Dolsak Scores 19 in Titans' Loss at W&J

WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College women's basketball team lost at Washington & Jefferson, 65-51, on Saturday in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game.

The Titans fall to 4-8 on the season and 3-2 in the PAC, while the Presidents improve to 11-2 overall and 3-1 in the league.

Senior guard Amy Dolsak (McDonald, Ohio/McDonald) led Westminster with 19 points as the only Titan to score in double figures. It was her fifth game of the season with at least 19 points.

Freshman guard Jenn Cantella (Freedom, Pa./Freedom) and freshman forward Katie Hughes (Boardman, Ohio/Cardinal Mooney) each came off the bench to score nine and seven points, respectively. Aside from Amy Dolsak, the remainder of the Titan starters combined for eight points.

Maggie Gibson paced the Presidents with 20 points and eight rebounds, including her 1,000th career rebound to become the first player in team history to post 1,000 career points and 1,000 rebounds.

Alyssa Oursler and Kennan Killeen scored 13 and 11 points, respectively, to round out W&J's double-digit scorers.

W&J shot 42.1 percent (24-57) from the floor compared to Westminster at 34.7 percent (17-49). The Titans committed 22 turnovers and induced just nine W&J turnovers. Westminster out-rebounded W&J, 35-30.

W&J jumped to a 20-7 lead before leading 38-20 at halftime. The Titans cut the deficit to 10 points on two occasions in the second half, but the Presidents led by as many as 20 points at 60-40 with 8:32 to go before cruising to the 14-point win.

Westminster returns to action at home vs. Thiel on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
