NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Junior guard Amy Dolsak (McDonald, Ohio/McDonald) posted team highs with 18 points and eight rebounds for the Westminster College women's basketball team in Saturday's 57-72 loss at home against Waynesburg in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action.
The Titans (6-14, 3-8 PAC), now losers of seven straight, trailed by as many as 14 points in the first half before drawing within one point by way of a 12-1 run to start the second half. Waynesburg (7-14, 4-7 PAC), which led 31-19 at halftime, only allowed the Titans to cut the deficit to 32-31 with 16 minutes left in the game before maintaining its lead the rest of the game.
Waynesburg's Elisha Jones scored a game-high 19 points and snared a game-high nine rebounds. Callie White also bucketed nine points.
After Dolsak's 18 points, Westminster's next highest scorer was senior guard Gina Brunetti (Canfield, Ohio/Cardinal Mooney) with 15 points. Sophomore point guard Kaitlin McCarthy (Lowellville, Ohio/Lowellville) handed out a game-high five assists to go with five points for the Titans.
Westminster shot 34.5 percent (20-58) from the floor compared to Waynesburg at 38.2 percent (21-55).
Westminster hosts Chatham on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
