Women's Basketball: Turnovers Costly as Titans Lose to No. 22 Capital

WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College women's basketball team lost to nationally-ranked Capital, 68-38, on Saturday in the second day of the Washington & Jefferson Tip-Off Classic in Washington, Pa. The Titans fall to 0-3 on the season, while the Crusaders, ranked No. 22 in the national by D3Hoops.com, improve to 1-1 on the year.

The Dolsak sisters led the Titans in the scoring column as senior guard Amy Dolsak (McDonald, Ohio/McDonald) scored a game-high nine points, while sophomore forward Emily Dolsak (McDonald, Ohio/McDonald) bucketed eight points to go with a team-high six rebounds.

Meagan McCalla matched Amy Dolsak's game high of nine points to lead Capital.

The Crusaders shot 43.4 percent (23-53) from the field while limiting Westminster to just 30.8 percent shooting (12-39). The difference in the game was turnovers as Westminster turned the ball over twice as many times as Capital at 35-17.

Capital led the entire game, including 37-14 at halftime, and its largest lead at 35 points (65-30) with 3:47 left in the game.

Westminster is off next week before hosting La Roche on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 2 p.m.
