Women's Basketball: Amy Dolsak Posts Double-Double in WC Loss at Saint Vincent

LATROBE, Pa. - The Westminster College women's basketball team led by one point at halftime before losing at unbeaten Saint Vincent, 61-55, Wednesday night in non-conference action.

The Titans (2-3) committed 30 turnovers (19 in the first half) compared to the Bearcats (5-0) with 16 turnovers. Saint Vincent also used a 16-4 run early in the second half to secure the win.

Westminster junior guard Amy Dolsak (McDonald, Ohio/McDonald) posted a double-double for a second straight game - third of her career - as she tied a career high with 19 points while pulling down 10 rebounds.

Senior guard Gina Brunetti (Canfield, Ohio/Cardinal Mooney) scored in double figures for a third straight game with 16 points.

Junior guard Lynn Riley (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) snared a career-high 13 rebounds despite not scoring in the game. The Titans held a 40-39 rebound advantage.

Janelle Reed led Saint Vincent with 19 points while Chelsea Young bucketed nine points and grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds.

After leading by as many as five points in the first half (11-6), Westminster held a 25-24 lead at halftime. Brunetti sank a pair of jumpers to give Westminster three-point leads on two separate occasions early in the second half, but the Bearcats took a lead with 15:44 to go in the game and never trailed again.

Saint Vincent took command of the game with a 16-4 run covering exactly five minutes between the 17:27 and 12:27 marks in the second half.

Westminster returns to action Saturday when it hosts Grove City at 2 p.m. as the first game of a men's and women's doubleheader.
