Dave Hayden

David Hayden enters his sixth year as the head men's and women's tennis coach for the 2020-21 season.
 
In the 2019-20 season, Hayden led the Lady Titans to 14-5 record and a 5-2 record in the PAC. Under the guidance of Hayden, the Titans totaled seven All-PAC recipients, including first team honorees Margo Mason and Alex Marzouca. The men finished with a record of 4-4.

In the 2018-2019 season, Hayden led the Lady Titans to a 11-7 record and a 5-2 record in the PAC, making it all the way to the PAC Championship match before falling to Grove City College. Under the tutelage of Hayden, Margo Mason and Alex Marzouca claimed the PAC Championship at #1 doubles. The men were eliminated in the quarterfinals, with Miguel Ascencio claiming All-PAC First Team honors. Under Hayden’s guidance, the Titans garnered ten All-PAC awards in 2018.
 
In 2017, Hayden and the Lady Titans recorded an eight-match win streak, going 59-13 in games during that stretch. The Lady Titans earned third-place at the PAC Championships, earning four runner-up finishes. The men finished fifth at the PAC Championships, earning three runner-up finishes. Hayden has coached 12 PAC champions, to go along with 23 recipients of the PAC Academic Honor Roll.

While at Westminster, Hayden was named PAC Coach of the Year in 2016-17 and led the lady Titans to two PAC Championships (2015, 2016). The Titans have also qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament twice during Hayden's tenure. 
 
Hayden previously served as a head high school tennis coach in the Pittsburgh area for over eight years. He was also the varsity coach at Upper St. Clair High School, where his team won the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) championship. During his time at Upper St. Clair, he coached three Division I and two Division II tennis players. In 2013, he was named the "High School Coach of the Year" by a local chapter of the United States Tennis Association (USTA).
 
In addition to coaching at the high school level, Hayden has hosted annual summer tennis clinics and several USTA youth tournaments. In 2010, he was recognized as the "Tournament Director of the Year" by the USTA.  He has been a member of the Professional Tennis Registry for over 30 years and holds a "Professional" certification.
 
Hayden has also served as a tennis professional at various facilities. Hayden has been a director of a Pittsburgh based tennis academy and runs his own executive recruiting company. He was appointed the President of the Board of the Allegheny Mountain District of the USTA in January.
 
A graduate of Point Park University, Hayden earned his bachelor of science degree in business management. He currently resides in Upper St. Clair. Hayden and his wife, Beverly, have one son, Alex.
