ALFRED, N.Y.--The Westminster men's soccer team lost to Alfred 3-1 Saturday at Yunevich Stadium.

The Titans opened the scoring in the 19th minute, when sophomore Alexis Bennetot (Miami, Fla., Florida Christian) finished a freshman Owen Householder (Clairton, Pa., Thomas Jefferson) assist for a 1-0 lead. Alfred answered with two goals, putting the Titans behind 2-1. Freshman Vasilis Kouvelas (Anthem, Ariz., Boulder Creek) made four saves and senior Alex Laski (Buffalo, N.Y., Clarence) added a defensive save as the Titans kept the deficit at one going into the half.

The Titans' second-half challenge grew in the 79th minute, when Alfred scored its third of the afternoon. The Titans answered with late chances, including shots by freshmen Zayden Herb (New Castle, Pa., Neshannock) and Kohen Salazar (San Angelo, Texas, Rockwall), that went wide before senior Orrin Milcic (Butler, Pa., Homeschooled (Knoch)) and Bennetot forced Alfred to make defensive stops.

Bennetot scored the Titans' goal and put both of his shots on frame. Householder recorded an assist. Kouvelas made four saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal. Laski added a defensive save.
