NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--Senior Liv Trent (Pittsburgh, Pa., Brentwood) finished with a career-high 20 kills in Wednesday night's 3-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory over Thiel at Ron Galbreath Court inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium.

Westminster won by set scores of 25-19, 18-25, 25-14, 25-20. The Titans used an 8-0 run in the fourth set to turn a 4-4 score into a 12-4 lead as they closed out the match.

The Titans improved to 10-7 overall and 2-0 in PAC play. Thiel fell to 4-5 overall and 1-1 in conference action.

Trent hit .357, posting 20 kills on 42 attempts. She added 11 digs. Wednesday was her seventh double-double of the year. Junior Morgan O'Brien (Pittsburgh, Pa., Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) recorded her second-straight triple-double and third of the season, finishing with 12 kills, 18 assists and a season-high 21 digs. Senior Anna-Kate Davis (Boonsboro, Md., Boonsboro) had 23 assists and added a season-high 16 digs. It was her third double-double this season. Junior Brooke Gecina (Aurora, Ohio, Aurora) collected 20 digs and seven assists. She has recorded 20 or more digs in 10 matches this year.

The Titans scored the final five points to take the first set 25-19. O'Brien started the closing push with a kill from Davis, freshman Suzie Bishop (Ellwood City, Pa., Riverside) added a block on one of two Thiel attack errors in the stretch, and sophomore Kylie Anthony (Harrison City, Pa., Penn-Trafford) finished it with a kill from O'Brien.

In the second, the Titans were even at 14-14 after Trent's kill from Davis, but Thiel scored the next five points and held control from there. Earlier, the Titans answered a 7-3 deficit with kills from Anthony and an O'Brien block before O'Brien's ace tied the set at 8-8. O'Brien added two late kills and Anthony had another before Thiel closed the second set 25-18.

The Titans broke open the third set from a 6-6 tie, winning six-straight points before stretching the advantage to 13-7. Sophomore Halle Albers (Corry, Pa., Corry) served five consecutive points in that surge, including two aces, and Trent put down back-to-back kills. After Thiel made it 13-8, the Titans put together another six-point run, with Trent and O'Brien contributing kills before the lead reached 19-8. The Titans closed out the set 25-14.

Westminster strung together an 8-0 run from a 4-4 tie to take a 12-4 lead, with O'Brien serving seven-straight points during the stretch. Senior Zoie Reid (Salem, Ohio, Salem), junior Dakota Hershberger (Belleville, Pa., Mifflin County) and Trent all recorded kills during the run, with Gecina assisting on three straight points.
