Westminster finishes sixth at Olivet's Lou Collins Memorial

MARSHALL, Mich.--The Westminster men's golf team posted a sixth-place team finish at Olivet's Lou Collins Memorial Invitational Thursday afternoon. 

The two-day, 16-team event was hosted by the Medalist Golf Club. Albion won the title with a two-round score of 605 (298-307). Westminster concluded its two rounds with a team score of 625, finishing Wednesday's opening round in third place with a team score of 311. The Titans combined to register a team score of 314 on Thursday. 

Sophomore Brody Pirt (Cranberry Township, Pa., Seneca Valley) finished tied for seventh with a 150. He wrapped up his first round in a five-way tie for 13th after shooting a four-over 76 before carding a two-over 74 on Thursday. Senior Jon Haddox (Bethel Park, Pa., Bethel Park) finished in a five-way tie for 13th with a 153. He finished the first round in a three-way tie for fourth place after firing a two-over 74 before registering a second round 79. Senior Tyler Hager (Lehighton, Pa., Palmerton) tied for 28th with a 157 (80-77) while freshman Julian Bolino (Warren, Ohio, John F. Kennedy) tied for 80th with a 165 (81-84). Sophomore Aydan Gross (Mount Pleasant, Pa., Mount Pleasant) tied for 80th with a 184 (92-92) to round out Westminster's scoring five. 

Westminster had a pair of players compete individually: sophomore Aiden Barker (Pittsburgh, Pa., Brentwood) tied for 59th with a 170 (84-86) while freshman Hayden Downs (Bridgeville, Pa., South Fayette) was 75th with a 178 (92-86). 

Up next:
Westminster will participate in Mount Union's Fall Invitational next Sunday and Monday, Sept. 13-14. The two-day tournament will be hosted by Tannenhauf Golf Club in Alliance, Ohio.
